Our goal is help each student find their voice. In choir, we focus on character building, team work, and building choral singing skills. We cover ALL genres of music. There is a place for anyone in the DeWitt Perry Choir!
We have few before or after school commitments. Most rehearsals take place during the school day. We do offer socials for students. These socials are NOT required, but encouraged. Choir students have 4 major required performances each year - Fall Concert, Winter Concert, UIL/Spring Festival, and Pop Show - that's it!
There is a $30 choir fee. This covers your student's choir t-shirt, transportation fees, contest entry fees, uniform dry cleaning, and supplies. Please refer to our handbook for more information on our choir fee.
Yes! Most of our students are involved in other fine arts groups, athletics, and extra curricular activities. 6th Grade students may need to contact their counselor about working it into their schedule. Many students opt to waive P.E. during their 6th grade year. 7th/8th Graders have more options and time in their schedule to double up on fun!
No! 7th and 8th Grade students are placed in a choir with other 7th and 8th Graders. 7th and 8th Grade students who are interested will need to contact the directors to let them know that they are interested in joining choir.
For any questions regarding joining choir, please contact Mr. Liburd at firstname.lastname@example.org.
