CFBISD Middle Schools Raise Record-Breaking Funds for the American Heart Association

Middle schools in the Carrollton-Farmers Branch Independent School District raised record-breaking funds for the American Heart Association. Perry Middle School and Blalack Middle School raised over $27,000 for physical education and athletic classes. In fact, Perry's donations totaled $15,989.30, making them the number one middle school in the state, and number four in the nation, in total raised funds. Blalack Middle School was close behind, raising $11,612.50 to rank second in the state of Texas and 10th in the nation.

All middle schools in CFBISD took part in this fundraising event. The funds will help support the American Heart Association and their effort to save lives from the number one killer globally, heart disease.

Before the American Heart Association existed, people across the United States with heart disease were thought to be doomed to complete bed rest — or destined to imminent death. That has all changed thanks to the efforts of this great organization. According to their website, the AHA has grown into the nation's oldest and largest voluntary organization dedicated to fighting heart disease and stroke. The AHA has invested more than $4.5 billion in heart health research.

This fundraiser at our CFBISD middle schools is another shining example of how Together We Can. We appreciate the support and dedication of our CFBISD students and staff.
